Taste Test’s mission is to strengthen the urban dining scene by providing a platform for aspiring restaurateurs to cultivate, test, and prove their concept to the community for a chance at owning their own restaurant.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED

Stop by the cafe, eat at each concept, give us suggestions, give us your ideas for the next concept. At the end give us feedback to tell us what you'd like to see permanently downtown. Even consider becoming a part owner of the establishment.

Or, pitch your own idea! We're looking for interested candidates who have ideas for new restaurant concepts in Downtown York. Locals who want to see their ideas come to fruition can come pitch them. Ideas that are chosen will have a chance to audition their concepts in a 3 day series where the community can come and taste the food.

Who we are

We are four partners that bring our areas of experience to the mentoring process. From left to right:

Robert Faucette is the Director of Operations and mentors auditioning chefs on logistics and prep. He has 13+ years of experience in the industry including The Yorktowne Hotel and Roburrito's.
Allison Witherow is the Creative Director. She markets the Taste Test project as well as helps each chef develop their restaurant concept's brand and identity. She is also the Director of Marketing and Events at Tutoni's Restaurant.
Toni Calderone is the President. She mentors aspiring chefs on service style, guest experience, and menu development. She also owns Tutoni's Restaurant
Jordan Pfautz is the Director of Finance. He mentors aspiring chefs on sourcing, pricing, and menu development. He also owns Roost Uncommon Kitchen and is a co-owner at York City Pretzel Company.

OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS

Most excitingly, this project is part of a collaboration of a few key community organizations. We've received a grant from YorIt, and we've developed a partnership with the York College Department of Hospitality. Their students are instrumental in developing the concepts & business plans and executing them alongside professionals in the industry to gain real world experience & market research.
