Auditions - Try Potential Concepts and Tell Us What You Think

Where: 101 S. Duke Street York, PA 17401

Audition events are held at our Taste Test Cafe in Royal Square. The York community is invited to attend these trials and answer a series of questions about their experience. This will help the Taste Test team make a final determination for which restaurant concepts will pop up in the restaurant side of our space, and which will permanently occupy a space in Downtown York.

Past Auditions:
Indian Fusion Auditions: August 2016
Our first ever audition at Taste Test was a concept called Indian Fusion. Indian Fusion was created by local chef Hamir Patel. His menu featured a wide variety of Indian dishes with authentic Indian spices and sauces. 

King Brat Auditions: September 2016
The second audition was a concept spearheaded by four local pals known as King Brät. They specialize in locally made sausages and dogs with gourmet toppings.

STEAM: Asian Street Food Auditions October 2016
The third audition was a dumpling and ramen noodle bar concept called STEAM Asian Street Food. They specialize in scratchmade dumplings, steamed bao buns, and hearty soup and noodle bowls. 

The Game Day Kitchen Audition: November 2016
The fourth audition was a all American fun food tailgating style event. An all you can eat buffet featuring goodies like pulled pork sliders and creamy cajun chicken soup. 

Forno Bova Auditions: December 2016
The fifth audition was a wood fire catering event brought to us by, Tony Bova. He is bringing his wood fired specialties to downtown York. His menu will be starting his event featuring goodies like roasted peppers, marinated mushrooms, crostini, and wood roasted ricotta.

Infusion Auditions: February 2017
Our first ever audition at Taste Test was a concept called Indian Fusion. This time it came back as "Infusion" with Chef Hamir Patel perfecting his recipes.

LaLa's Slightly Sicilian: March 2017
Chef Lauren Anile used her grandmother's old Sicilian recipes for her scratch made Italian-American concept. She featured items like arancini and asparagus patty sandwiches.

Paco's Tacos: April 2017
Chef Brando Diaz debuted this taco shop named after his one year old son Paco. He featured six different street tacos of slow braised meats and fresh sauces on housemade tortillas with chips and fresh guac on the side.

Pari's Taste Table: April 2017
Chef Komal Shah did a Progressive French Creole tasting menu- five courses featuring nine different dishes, many infused with touches of molecular gastronomy. Chef Komal has cooked under Chef Emeril Lagasse and Iron Chef Jose Garces. 

Pitch your idea:
We're looking for interested candidates who have ideas for new restaurant concepts in Downtown York. Locals who want to see their ideas come to fruition can come pitch them at two casting calls next month. Ideas that are chosen will have a chance to audition their concepts in a 3 day series where the community can come and taste the food.
